A Social Media Expert is the one who spends decent amount of time over internet, doing research and developing strategies regarding working in social media. The user base of Quora comprises of these sorts of people. The reason behind this being the simple fact that users there don’t just sign in and re-tweet what strategy or link they like, they indulges themselves in serious debate and long discussion comprising of original thoughts and genuine strategies. So, according to me the users at Quora are not just the Social Media users, they are here to contribute in Social media.

Ok, I visited PopURI and put in my blog. It says I have NO Google BackLinks. That's a bad thing right? Aren't BackLinks a good, and important part of blogging? Care to tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have more than 19K in Yahoo.

This post has provided a lot of great info. Thank you for sharing. I agree with Jason on certain level of quality over quantity on Twitter. Although just like anything else, people are attracted towards interesting profiles and those individuals with lots of followers. Everything must be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to social media.

I would have to disagree with judging a social media consultant by the number of Twitter followers they get. Anyone can get 10,000's of Twitter followers by doing it the wrong way which follows the whole Twitter Karma mentality. This just creates more shouting and no listening. Any good social media embracer will tell you that every tool must be used for a purpose (i.e. feedback, mitigating risk, taking a pulse on a community, etc.). It is the quality of followers and the level of engagement they have that determines the success. Lastly, a good social media consultant is one that understands how and when to apply the right tools that are parallel to the purpose of their mission online.

I am beginning to love Gowalla. At first I didn't understand what the point was but after a while I truly began understand the reason for this application. It's a great way to connect with CEO's, and also be a great way to stay connected. I love it!
